Welcome

Licensed, Local and Trusted in Bronte

This laid-back beachside village is where our local electrical team spends most weeks: the flats behind the beach, and the steep streets climbing both sides of the gully.

Work is done under NSW electrical contractor licence #452529C, by a Master Electricians Australia member.

You get a fixed written price before we start, so nothing turns up on the invoice you did not agree to. Meet the team.

Every Electrical Service Bronte Homes Call For

Six services between them cover almost everything a house throws at a sparkie. Each is quoted in writing and wired to the AS/NZS 3000 rules.

Pick the closest match below, or ring and describe the symptom.

Switchboard Upgrades

Switchboard upgrades take an old board to current standards: RCBOs, labelled circuits, and room for what you add later. We size it around the loads you actually run.

Light Installation

Getting the light right is half the job. Light installation runs from downlights and dimmers inside to floodlights and garden runs outside, each on its own tested circuit.

EV Charger Installation

Cable run and switchboard capacity decide what an EV charger installation costs, not the charger. Double-brick walls off Murray Street mean chasing or a surface run, priced before we start.

Emergency Electrician

When the board will not reset, or you can smell burning, the job stops being a booking. You get phone triage with a licensed electrician, then an emergency electrician heading your way.

Level 2 Electrician

Only an accredited electrician may work on the supply side of your meter. A Level 2 electrician handles consumer mains, service lines, the point of attachment and defect notices.

Residential Electrician

Smoke alarms to NSW rules, ceiling fans, extra power points, and fault finding when nothing looks wrong: our residential electrician team does the everyday work. Data and comms cabling too.

Local knowledge

Bronte Homes and What They Need from an Electrician

Two housing stories sit side by side here. You can usually read which one off the switchboard.

The first is pre-1940: Federation and inter-war cottages on the gully hillsides, built in brick, render and double-brick.

The second is those same cottages after a knockdown-rebuild or a major renovation. This pocket has seen a lot of both.

So the job in front of us swings from one extreme to the other. One house is fully reworked with the board to match, and its neighbour is still on original circuits.

Many of the original cottages still have ceramic fuse boards in them. Those cannot give you the circuit protection a modern home needs, so a switchboard upgrade is normally the first quote we write.

Behind the beach and along Macpherson Street, terraces, semis and small apartment blocks sit in among the detached houses. A semi shares a wall, and that wall is where most of the cable-run thinking goes.

Bronte Road mixes shops, cafes and flats close to the sand. A job in one of those flats is strata work, so permissions and access get sorted before anyone lifts a cover.

None of that changes what you get from us. We tell you what we find, in plain English, and quote it before we start.

The Homes Still Running Without a Safety Switch

There is a second thing we find in the unrenovated stock, and it matters more than the fuses do.

Plenty of older homes here have no RCD safety switch at all. Every modern circuit is meant to have one.

A safety switch (RCD) cuts the power in a fraction of a second when current leaks somewhere it should not, usually through a person. A fuse does not do that job; it protects the wiring.

The gap is invisible right up until it matters. Your lights work perfectly well without one.

The fix is not dramatic. It rides along with a switchboard upgrade, or stands as a small job on its own, and either way it gets tested and written up.

Why Bronte Keeps Choosing Us

Families do not want a new sparkie every time something goes wrong. They want the one who did the last job to pick up the phone.

Plenty of people here own and plenty rent, so we work for both. That means owners planning a decade ahead, and managers who need it fixed and documented.

We Turn Up When We Say

Bookings, often same or next day. If we are held up you hear it from us first, and a real emergency jumps everything else, day or night.

The Guarantee Does Not Expire

If our workmanship fails, we come back and fix it at no cost. For life.

A 12-month product warranty sits on top, and the guarantee certificate is emailed the day we finish.

$50 Off, and the Quote Costs Nothing

Quotes are free, and we do them on site, with no call-out fee for quoting.

New to us? That is $50 off your first service, on top of the free quote, no strings attached.

600+ Five-Star Reviews, and Counting

Every one of those is a real Google review, not a curated handful. John left one, and reckoned our price held up well next to the other quotes he got.

How we work

How We Work on Every Job

Four steps, every job, whatever the size.

Nobody touches anything until you have agreed the price. Nothing is finished until it has been tested, certified and cleaned up behind us.

  1. 01

    Call and Describe It

Ring (02) 9134 9029 and a real person answers the phone, not a call centre. Say what it is doing, and if it sounds urgent a licensed sparkie picks it up on the spot.

  2. 02

    We Look, Then We Price

Someone comes out, has a proper look, and writes the price down. Quoting costs nothing, and once you accept it the price is locked, even when the job takes longer than we expected.

  3. 03

Gear Goes In, Mess Does Not

Drop sheets down and the place left tidy, every time. We fit Clipsal and Hager switchgear, not cheap imports. If we leave it less than spotless, we pay for the cleaner.

  4. 04

    Tested, Certified, Handed Over

Everything gets tested before we sign off. Notifiable electrical work is lodged with NSW Fair Trading, and the completed-work photos come through with the paperwork.

Emergency Electrical Help Across Bronte

Some faults will not sit and wait for a booking. Ring (02) 9134 9029, say what you can see, and an emergency electrician starts moving.

  • Burning smell around an outlet, a switch or the switchboard
  • Sparks, or a bang, when something goes into an outlet
  • An RCD you cannot get to hold once you push it up
  • Scorch marks, or a wall plate that is warm to the touch
  • Some rooms dead, others fine, and the neighbours all lit
  • Water coming through a ceiling near a light fitting

If the whole street is dark, the network is down and Ausgrid owns that one. When it is just your place, it is ours.

Turn it off at the switchboard, keep back, and ring. Genuine emergencies get answered around the clock.

Safe and Compliant on Every Job

Electrical work is the trade where getting it wrong kills someone. That is why the rules are strict, and why we would rather walk you through them than skip past them.

The Licence Is Public

NSW electrical contractor licence #452529C sits on this page for a reason. Anyone can check it against the public register before letting a stranger open their switchboard.

Wired to AS/NZS 3000

Every circuit here meets the AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules, with SafeWork NSW and the NSW Service and Installation Rules over the top. Ask and we will translate any of it, explained in plain English.

Fully Insured, Fully Accountable

You are covered either way. We are insured for public liability, workers compensation included, and we are a Master Electricians Australia member, which is an industry body you can take a complaint to.

DIY Is Illegal Here

DIY electrical work is illegal in NSW, and that is not a technicality. Even swapping a light fitting is licensed work, so ask us before you touch it.

Common questions

Your Electrician Questions, Answered

These come up most often on the phone. Anything not covered, just ring and ask.

Nobody minds the question, and you will not get a sales pitch back.

What electrical services do you offer?

Lighting, switchboards, EV chargers, Level 2 work, emergency call-outs, everyday residential jobs, and data and comms cabling. Six service pages on this site carry the detail on each one.

Do I get a Certificate of Compliance after the work?

Yes, on notifiable electrical work. Your certificate of compliance is lodged with NSW Fair Trading and emailed to you, and we will resend it any time the email goes missing.

How much does an electrician cost in Bronte?

We do not charge by the hour. What moves the price here is access: a board in an old cottage on the gully hillside is a different job to one in a rebuilt house.

Can you install an EV charger at home?

Yes, and the work is mostly the cable run and the switchboard. Double-brick walls and a board with no spare space are what move the price, so we check both before quoting.

How does your pricing work?

A fixed price in writing, before anything is touched. The quote covers labour, materials, testing and GST, and if something genuinely unexpected turns up we stop, tell you, and price the extra before we go on.

Do you offer emergency electrical work?

Yes, though normal bookings sit inside Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm. Genuine emergencies are covered day and night, so if it is sparking, smoking or hot to touch, do not wait for Monday.
